Children of Donbas will tell about war and peace in drawings

Children of Donbas (who is living in the region or displaced persons) will be able to express their vision of peace and war in drawings. In order to present Ukrainian and the international community their oeuvre, the community initiative “Restoring Donbas” announces the beginning of the contest of children’s drawings “Peace and war through the eyes of Donbas children” starting from May 9.
The focus of the competition – is the perception of Donbas children of their problems, worries and hopes for the future. Their emotions, which are expressed in drawings, will give all parties of the conflict, and people, who can influence on its resolution, the opportunity to muse upon fall to thinking about real price of the war and the necessity of its ending.
Children from Donbas in age from 5 to 16 years, who live in DNR and LNR ares, Donbas territories, which are under Ukrainian control, or in other regions of Ukraine and abroad, can participate in the contest. We also invite children from orphanages located in uncontrolled areas or displaced persons. They will constitute a separate category of participants with winners.
Besides drawing, participants on their own or with their friends, relatives or guardians have to present short story about theirselves in the context of events in Donbas.
Starting from June 1, 2015, International Children’s Day, paintings of the participants will be published on the site restoring-donbass.com, as well as on the pages of community initiative “Restoring Donbas” in social networks. Herewith, participant, whose picture will get the largest number of likes on the page “Restoring Donbas” in VKontakte, will also receive a prize.
Winners will be awarded valuable prizes – laptops and tablets. A a collection of entries, and receive all participants. All participants will obtain a copy of the publication with a collection of contest drawnings and a letter of thanks from the community initiative.
