Starting from October 5, IDPs from Donbas, who live in Kiev have an opportunity to obtain expert advice of pediatrician, therapist, psychologist and psychotherapist. Such services are provided by the center of the advisory help to IDPs, which was opened by community «Restoring Donbas».
Consultations are provided free of charge by specialized professionals- volunteers. On Monday, October 5, there was a meeting with Lyudmila Didkovskaya – MD-PhD, Associate Professor of the Department of Propaedeutic of Internal Medicine of Bogomolets National Medical University. A child psychologist consulted IDPs on Tuesday, October 6.
Elena Petryaeva – the head of the initiative – noted that providing medical consultations it is one of the priority fields of assistance to displaced persons. “This is primarily due to the fact that IDPs rarely apply to public health facilities. According to our statistics, more than 80% of IDPs do not obtain necessary medical aid”, – said Petryaeva.
In addition, IDPs need psychological assistance. According to Inna Mishina – the head of the Center – experts pay special attention to families with children.
“The war has left a heavy imprint on people’s hearts, especially on children’s hearts. We have to help the younger generation to cope with painful memories. IDPs should know that they will not stay with their problems alone, “- Mishina said.
