“Restoring Donbas” has received more than 100 applications for the competition of young architects

Community initiative “Restoring Donbas” has terminated submitting of applications for participation in the contest of young scientists “Restore Donbas together”. Nowadays, community initiative has received more than 100 applications via email from the students from several Ukrainian universities and young practicing architects and scientists.
The most active participants were students from Kyiv National University of Construction and Architecture, Kharkiv National University of Civil Engineering and Architecture, Donbas National Academy of Civil Engineering and Architecture, as well as the students of the Faculty of Architecture from the National Aviation University.
Let us remind, the contest of young scientists “Restore Donbas together” was launched on November 9, 2015. The main goal of the event – is to involve Ukrainian students, graduate students and young scientists into implementation of the projects designed to rebuild destroyed Donbas and help IDPs to adapt to the new location.
On October 27, community initiative “Restoring Donbas” presented a contest during the opening ceremony of the KievArh 2015 Forum and the exhibition of the graduation projects of graduates from Ukrainian universities (major “Architecture” and “Design”), which took place in the capital.
The exhibition of “Restoring Donbas” was presented in the hall of the university among the works of young architects. It included the information about the competition, as well as photo-proofs of destructions in Donetsk and Luhansk regions.
The winning projects will be determined in each category. The authors will receive a prize of UAH 10 thousand plus two special prizes. The most interesting works will be offered to the authorities and investors on Ukrainian territories of Donbas in order to implement these projects. A database of such projects will be the foundation for large-scale construction in Donetsk and Luhansk regions.
