In Kiev was opened the exhibition “An easter opening day”

Masterpieces of embroidery, beadworks, arts and crafts for Easter exhibited at Taras Shevchenko National Museum. The Easter exhibition was organized by the volunteers of Restoring Donbas. There was the award ceremony of the best masterpieces as well.
– Actually, the idea of Easter exhibition is not new. We had that kind of exhibitions in Donetsk region annually organized by CCI and Regional State Administration. It was always really very popular. We decided to keep on the tradition and announced the Easter art competition for kids and adults from Donetsk and Lugansk regions. You know, I’d like to admit, that all works lightened with kindness, faith in life, aspired for peace and unity in Ukraine. Peace is the only wish of people lives in Donbas. The pray for peace is the only pray to God on Easter eve, – said Elena Petryayeva, the Head of Restoring Donbas Initiative.
– The exhibition shows love, faith and hope for peaceful life in Ukraine. It emphasizes the patriotic feeling to Donbas lands, – said Oleksandr Lukyanchenko, Mayor of Donetsk.
Svitlana Yatsenko, the jury Chairman, the Secretory of National Museum of Ukrainian Folk Art admitted the very high level of traditional and modern techniques of decorative art, bright creative imagination and real professional skills of the works exhibited.
– It’s really surprisingly how many people took part at Easter exhibition. It’s really unbelievable how many people form Donbas, IDPs have talent! Among them there are so many kids. All the works are so positive! – noted Svitlana Yatsenko.
Special edition with the best masterpieces photos and the history devoted to Easter celebration in Ukraine and Donbas was presented at Easter Opening Day.
The exhibition was organized by the volunteers of Restoring Donbas Initiative. The goal of the event is to attract the attention to IDP’s problems, to kids forced to leave their home.
