Germany provides victims of the conflict in Donbas with EUR 6 million for food

The German Federal Government allocated EUR 6 million for humanitarian projects of the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization in Eastern Ukraine said in the report of German Embassy in Kyiv for the period of 2016 and 2017.
The German Federal Government has increased the amount of support for Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (UNFAO) in “Emergency assistance to civilians affected by the conflict in eastern Ukraine” humanitarian program. In 2015, Germany assisted the FAO humanitarian activities in Ukraine in the amount of EUR 4.5 million.
The aim of this project is to ensure that people affected by the conflict in eastern Ukraine have enough food. The project makes an important contribution to ensuring the survival of many internally displaced persons and families in communities that have taken refugees and conflict-affected people on both sides of the demarcation line in Donetsk and Lugansk regions.
Since the conflict began in the frameworks of FAO project 650 thousand people has already received assistance in eastern Ukraine.
Earlier, it was reported that the Pope has created the Committee for the aid distribution to Ukrainians.
