Taras Shevchenko Art School Ready to Accept Children from Donbas for Studies

Taras Shevchenko State Secondary Art School is ready to accept children from Donbas for studies. Olena Avramenko, Principal of the educational institution and Honored Artist, announced that at the opening of exhibition “Peace and War through Children’s Eyes”.
“Many pictures shown at the exhibition were made at a level that is rather high. It would be a pleasure for us to accept those young artists for studies and we would help them to unlock their talent to a greater degree”, – she said.
Avramenko made a special notice of the work of Sofiia Sbitnieva (Slaviansk), winner of the contest, as well as pictures of Yelyzaveta Dekhtiaruk (Stakhanov) and Tetiana Bulyhina (Makiivka). Volunteers from “Restoring Donbas” Community Initiative in their turn presented Olena Avramenko with a certificate of honor for her help in organization of the exhibition.
Soon after the exhibition opening, the works by children from Donbas were seen by over two hundred students of the art school, with natives of Donbas and Luhansk provinces among them.
The exposition is open in the building of the art school (4, Zhambila Zhambaieva St., Kyiv) until 15 April.
It is to be recalled that the contest of children’s pictures “Peace and War through Children’s Eyes” has been organized by “Restoring Donbas” Community Initiative with the aim to impart how Donbas children take their problems, worries and hopes for the future. Children aged from 5 to 16, living in the territories controlled by DPR and LPR, in Donbas territories controlled by Ukraine or other regions of Ukraine and abroad, could participate in the contest.
