Nearly half of Ukrainians are rather positive or neutral to IDPs. These results of the nationwide survey were presented by UNHCR and Ministry of the temporarily occupied territories and internally displaced persons in Kyiv last week. The survey was carried out by Kyiv International Institute of Sociology.
According to the survey, almost all of the respondents perceive the IDPs from Donbas or Crimea positively (43% in Ukraine and 58% in the areas with the largest concentration of IDPs) or neutral (47% and 34% accordingly). The attitude of the majority of Ukrainians (83%) to IDPs remained unchanged after two years of the conflict beginning.
By the way, the Cabinet of Ministers adopted a draft resolution to settle payments of social benefits of IDPs.
