New Social and cultural center opened in Druzhkovka

A modern Social and Cultural Centre starts its work in Druzhkovka Central City Library. The opening of the center took place in the framework of the signed agreement on cooperation between Restoring Donbas Initiative, Taras Shevchenko National Museum and Municipality of Druzhkovka.
– By opening the center we make a step to the future of our children. We’ll take care of their hobbies. We’ll help to develop educational institutions of the city. The Centre is already equipped with the modern computers; its library has more thousand new books. We have a lot of work to do together with Dmitry Stus, the Director of Taras Shevchenko National Museum. We’ll attract Ukrainians best experts in education, science and culture, – said Svetlana Klochko, the volunteer of Restoring Donbas Public Initiative.
Svetlana Klochko presented the exhibition of children’s drawings “Peace and war through the eyes of the children of Donbass” by saying that the exhibition of high importance to see the feelings of the children as they suffer the most in this war. And the drawings express the hope for peace and strong Ukraine.
According to Alexander Klimenko, the founder of the Initiative, politician, the most important thing for children is the sense of peace and hope to develop their opportunities. So each of us using own capabilities, can make a contribution to the future of our country as the success of children entirely depends on our actions today.
The center is differently zoned for entertainment and education. There’s clubs to study Ukrainian and English languages, extracurricular class for reading, “friendly family” social zone, number workshops and internet center (“Infomyshka”).
On the opening day visitors took part in several master classes on arts and crafts, enjoy the exhibition of children’s drawings “Peace and war through the eyes of the children of Donbass”, and see flash mob based on the book “Martha from St. Nicholas Street”. The special guest for the opening was Roman Semisalov, Ukrainian actor, director and poet.
