In Svyatohirsk, Donetsk region, IDPs from Gorlovka, Donetsk and Yasinovataya are forced leave their temporary home as the company owns the rehabilitation centre “Troyanda” is bankrupted.
People settled in the rehabilitation centre in 2014. The centre was not repaired for 10 years (no sewerage, heating and hot water). IDPs made the repair of the centre with their costs and investments of 1 million UAH from Czech NGO “People in Need”, the Polish “RAN”, IOM, UNICEF, NGO “Slavic Hearts” and SES of Ukraine.
So many people helped us with building materials, financial assistance. International NGO and UN agencies assist us with food and hygiene kits, – says Andrey Nesgovorov, a representative of IDPs.
People have no place to live except this centre. They do not want to move back to Gorlovka or Donetsk because a lot of them have their homes ruined.
However there is no place to move them in Svyatohirsk.
According to Alexander Dziuba, the Mayor of Svyatohirsk, there are no opportunities to move IDPs to any other rehabilitation centre or whatever. The only way out is to stay all of IDPs in “Troyanda” rehabilitation centre.
Residents of the base have already written a request to the Presidential Administration, regional administration and to the owners.
The date when the settlers had to leave “Troyanda” is 14 June. Though people still there. Meanwhile the rehabilitation centre is going to be sold for 4 million hryvnas. Where with people or not?
As we reported earlier the IDPs and activists staged a performance in the center of Kiev.
