– The Procession for peace, which starts from the West and the East would be held throughout Ukraine and would meet in Kiev. The great sense of the Procession is in the union of the West and the East. We’d like to accent that we live in the peaceful Christian country as the Orthodox Church has always been a peaceful and creative. I’m happy to know that the Procession started from Holy Assumption Monastery in Svyatohirsk that became the shelter for refugees form Donbas in 2014. The monarchs still provide all possible assistance to people who could not to return to their homes, – said Elena Petryaeva, the Head of Restoring Donbas Initiative.
– The Procession is not just a spiritual feat. This is a deliberate, willful act of every Christian soul. It is the time to show our Christian conscience.
The Procession starts from the Holy Assumption Monastery (Donetsk region) at 9 am on 3 July. The beginning of the Procession in Pochayiv Lavra (Ternopil region) is at 8 am on July 9th. The route passes the territory of Donetsk, Kharkiv, Poltava, Ternopil, Rivne, Khmelnytsky, Zhytomyr and Kyiv regions.
