Kharkiv official, extort a bribe from IDP families, sent to court

In Kharkiv region prosecutor’s office sent to Dzerzhinsky District Court of Kharkov indictment on the fact of extortion and receiving illegal benefits of a state officer, to extort bribes from IDPs.
Head of the regional prosecutor’s office, Pavlo Vinda said that the chairman of the commission for resettlement of displaced persons demanded and received 4 thousand UAH from the family moved from Lugansk region.
“To force IDPs to extort a bribe, the official required documents from IDPs regarding their official registration, knowing that they can not provide. For the money the official promised to “close your eyes” to the lack of documentation and help in settling the family in modular town”, – Pavlo Vinda said.
According to the court decision, the official has removed from the office. Also, a round the clock house arrest stabled to the official to prevent any cases..
The maximum sanction article provides 10 years of imprisonment.
Reportedly, the Ministry of Social Policy said that the number of registered IDPs decreased.
