Damaged water pipe cut off 250 thousand people in Luhansk,- OSCE SMM

Breakthrough in the pipeline pumping station near the Ukrainian government controlled Petrivka (Luhansk region) resulted about 250 thousand people cut off water supply.
“Yesterday at the pumping station near the government-controlled Petrivka the SMM OSCE observed a damaged 900mm water pipeline, which according to a representative of Popasna Vodakanal had ruptured again during the early morning hours of 10 January after repairs on 8 January. Thus, about 250,000 people were left without clean water,” – said in the report of SMM OSCE.
Special Mission facilitated the establishment of the ceasefire, as well as its compliance monitoring carried out to ensure that water utility employees were able to carry out repair work.
“Workers with specialized equipment repaired damage on the ground. Repair work continued today”, – the report said.
As we have previously reported that the Ukrainian side has resumed the supply of water to the uncontrolled part of Luhansk region.
