Only 1/10 part of 3.6 billion UAH spent for restoration in Donbas

The government started inspecting the effectiveness of the funds usage allocated for the infrastructure restoration in Donbas. As it was reported earlier the Verhovna Rada allocated 3.6 billion UAH for reconstruction and restoration of the infrastructure damaged in the result of the military conflict. The Ministry for Temporary Occupied Territories and IDPs noted that by the end of 2016 Luhansk regional authorities could use only 13% of the funds, i.e. 143 million UAH, however, Donetsk authority could use 5% or 134.1 million UAH of 2 billion UAH.
The Ministry noted that the inflationary losses on of the funds amounted 251 million UAH.
584 facilities for the amount of 2,6 billion UAH were to be reconstructed in Donetsk region; 150 object for 1 million UAH – in Lugansk region.
Irina Gerashchenko, the first vice-speaker of the Verkhovna Rada, Ukraine’s representative in the humanitarian subgroup of the Trilateral contact group, articulated this information and promised on arrival from Donetsk region to conduct a thorough audit of the usage of allocated money.
As it was reported before Red Cross will allocate more than 60 million of Swiss francs to help the residents in Donbas.
