According to Alexander Lazurenko who represent the interests of IDPs in the boarding house “Dzherelo” 168 IDPs from Donbas and the Crimea found shelter when the conflict began June, 2014.
“Department of Social Policy of Kyiv City Administration registered the IDPs in this boarding house in October 2014. We believed that we had completely legitimate reason to live there. Later on the first, second, third owners appeared since that time”, – Alexander said.
In the late summer of 2016 a real owner of the boarding house came to IDPs saying that they needed to leave their housing before the 1st of March.
“There was no direct threat or whatever. But they said we would leave the housing anyway. Right now they installed an electronic lock. Probably there’re preparing. We were announced that from the 1st of March the owner would start repairing works in the house. So, we’d be cut off power and water supply”, – Lazurenko says.
No alternative housing was proposed to IDPs except fake addresses somewhere in faraway villages in different part of Ukraine. As it was reported before high schools from uncontrolled part of Donbas deprived of its licenses, and their graduates were obliged to re-certification.
