Ministry of Energy proposes to introduce a state of emergency due to coal shortage in Donbas

Igor Nasalik, the Minister of Energy and coal industry of Ukraine and Vsevolod Kovalchuk, the head of UkrEnergo articulated the proposal to the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine to introduce a state of emergency in the power market due to the blocking of supply of anthracite from territories temporarily beyond the control of the Government.
“Due to the shortage of anthracite group Ministry initiates a state of emergency in the energy sector”, – Nasalik said.
He noted that 927 thousand tons of anthracite is in the warehouses for the moment. And the average daily consumption is about 30 thousand tons per day, that is- for 40 days.
In case when they run off the anthracite group the Ministry would apply special graphics outages.
