The state bank “Oschadbank” developed a preferential mortgage program for internally displaced persons, suggesting the pay housing up to 30 years with a fixed rate of 20% per annum.
The citizens who have moved from the temporarily occupied territory of Ukraine and the areas where the antiterrorist operation is conducted can buy housing on special terms, the report of the press service of “Oschadbank” said.
The loan is granted for a period of up to 30 years. The interest rate is 20% and is fixed throughout the term of the loan. A loan can be received in the amount of up to 90% of the value of real estate, which will act as collateral. In turn, collateral for the loan can be provided as a home that will be purchased in the secondary market, as well as other real estate that belongs to the guarantor (for example, the relatives of the IDP) or directly to the borrower.
For comparison, the average interest rate on a loan for housing in the United States is from 3 to 4.5%, in Germany – from 3.5 to 7%. Prior to the crisis, the interest rate on loans in Ukrainian banks did not exceed 15%.
The sociologists reportedly recorded a deterioration in the relationship between IDPs and hosting communities.
