The analyst of the Civic Network OPORA Alexander Klyuzhev during his press conference stated that Internally displaced persons could vote at the place of their residence rather than registration in case if they applied to the elective commission and demonstrate IDP certificate.
“A voter who actually resides not in the place of registration will be able to file an appeal regarding a new election address and provide additional documents. For internally displaced persons, this is a certificate of registration of an internally displaced person; for other categories of citizens, various categories of documents are provided: rental contract for housing to which the voter asks to determine his new place of permanent voting, title to a certain type of housing or other grounds to confirm the reason of change in the electoral address, – Klyuyev said.
Mustafa Nayem, MP noted that, according to the UN, the number of people who moved to the territory controlled by the Ukrainian authorities is more than 2 million. At the same time, people deliberately went to the referendum in Donetsk and Luhansk region are about 400,000 people.
Nayem stressed that, in fact, the Ukrainian government creates a chasm in the process of reintegration by repelling the IDPs and not giving them the opportunity to vote.
Besides, IDPs who travel to the uncontrolled Donbas for a period of more than 60 days, may lose their payments.
