Human rights defenders from “Right to Protect” helped a resident of Donetsk region to prove her IDP status to the department of social protection.
The woman with her little son had to escape from a village of Mariinsky district in Donetsk region in March 2016, when their house was damaged due to shelling. They moved to one of the settlements of Volnovakhsky district of Donetsk region.
At the new community, the local department of social protection repeatedly refused to issue a certificate for registration as an internally displaced person due to the fact that the woman had no registration in her passport.
In early March 2017, the woman applied for legal advice to the lawyers of “Right to Protect”. The lawyers taking into account that the native village of the woman belongs to the list of settlements on the territory of which the antiterrorist operation was carried out helped to collect proper documents confirming the fact of residence.
After all, the woman was recognized as internally displaced person and got her IDP certificate. As earlier reported the President signed the law on the regulation of the property usage in Donbas.
